The Bloomsbury Coffee House opens at 8am for breakfast, which they serve until 11.30 am during the week and 1.30 pm on weekends and bank holidays. They are open until 6pm during the week. Extensive brunches and a daily changing menu is what's on offer here – don't miss their cinnamon buns at 8am during the week! Just 3 minutes from the Department of Experimental Psychology.
The coffee shop at Waterstone's, Dillons, serves Union coffee, a range of pastries and cakes from local bakeries, sandwiches and salads, as well as wine and beer if you’re after something a little stronger. Not a quiet place for study, but ideal to combine it with a stroll through Waterstone's -- the Waterstone's on Gower Street is Europe's biggest specialist bookshop. Go to the third floor for the philosophy section :-)
The Upper Fleet Bakery serves breakfast, seasonal sandwiches, quiches, frittatas, freshly made salads and soups daily, as well as tempting cakes, biscuits and pastries. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and free wifi. Just a stroll from UCL's Department of Experimental Psychology via Tavistock Square.
Secret tip in Bloomsbury: The "49 Cafe", an Italian Cafe well-known for its delicious pasta and salads. This cute small place is located few minutes away from the conference venue and has lots of varieties of breakfast/lunch food and good coffee. Be aware that it could be very crowded around lunchtime, but it also does takeout. Get a free banana for desert.
